Getting Started with Hypertasks: Learn Board Basics
This guide will walk you through the process of setting up your first project in Hypertasks, from creating a board to adding tasks and team members. Both keyboard shortcuts and mouse actions are provided.
Step 1: Create a New Board
Keyboard:
Open the Hypertasks Command Center (HTC) by pressing
Ctrl + K
(Windows) orCmd + K
(Mac)Type "create board" and select the option
Enter a name for your new board and press Enter
Mouse:
Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the upper left corner to open the board sidebar
Click the "+" icon in the board sidebar
Select "Create new board"
Enter a name for your new board and click "Create"

Step 2: Set Up Columns
Keyboard:
Open the HTC (
Ctrl + K
/Cmd + K
)Type "Add column" and select the option
Enter the column name
Mouse:
Click the "+" icon at the right end of your board
Enter the column name and click "Add"
To manage columns: Keyboard: Use the HTC and search for "Manage columns" Mouse: Right-click on a column header and select "Manage columns"

Step 3: Add Tasks
Keyboard:
Press
C
to add a new task at the top of a columnPress
Shift + C
to add a new task at the bottom of a column
Mouse:
Click the "+" icon at the top of a column to add a task at the top
Click the "+" icon at the bottom of a column to add a task at the bottom
For both methods: 3. Enter the task title and press Enter / click "Create" 4. To add more details, press Enter / double-click the task to open it

Step 4: Customize Tasks
In the task detail view:
Add a description: Click the description field and start typing
Set priority: Press
P
or click the priority dropdownSet task size: Press
S
or click the size dropdownAdd tags: Press
T
or click the tag fieldSet due date: Press
Shift + D
or click the calendar iconAssign task: Press
A
or click the assignee field
Note: For all fields, you can simply click on them with your mouse to edit or set values.

Step 5: Invite Team Members
Keyboard:
Open the HTC (
Ctrl + K
/Cmd + K
)Type "invite" and select the invite option
Mouse:
Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner
Select "Invite team members"
For both methods: 3. Enter the email addresses of your team members 4. Set appropriate permission levels
Step 6: Assign Tasks
Keyboard:
Select a task and press
A
Choose a team member to assign the task to
Mouse:
Click on a task to open it
Click on the "Assign" field and select a team member
Step 7: Get To Know Your Inbox
Keyboard: Press G
then I
to go to your inbox Mouse: Click on the "Inbox" icon in the left sidebar

To quickly switch between boards, use the keyboard shortcut
